Last Friday, Year 6 spent the day out on the Mendip Hills near Charterhouse as the next stage in their QE Award programme.

The day was a step up from the orienteering exercise they completed last term in Ashton Court, as the much more remote location really put their navigation skills to the test. The boys stepped up to the challenge and demonstrated excellent team work skills to all complete the task in record time. They even managed to negotiate their way through a herd of curious heifers that seemed to want to join in the fun!!! Well done boys. A really super day.

The Queen Elizabeth (QE) Award is exclusive to QEH Juniors and is based on the principles of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Boys take part in a variety of outdoor pursuits and voluntary activities throughout Years 5 and 6, culminating in an overnight camp on Exmoor at the end of Year 6.

At QEH, sustainability is at the heart of our community. From reducing food waste with Holroyd Howe to promoting sustainable transport and engaging in wildlife conservation, our pupil-led initiatives are making a real impact.

As well as being Head of Religion and Philosophy, Zak leads our digital vision. He was instrumental in developing our excellent online learning offering during lockdown, much to the relief of our parents, and is now leading the roll out of our school device programme.

Into the Wood!

Thank you for making Alec’s first week so enjoyable. He’s loved every day and has come home really happy. In particular, he’s said the other boys have made him feel really included and like he’s always been there.
