Co-Curricular
The School’s co-curricular activities are an integral part of life here at QEH and we are fortunate to have staff with a wide variety of interests and enthusiasms to share.
Debating and public speaking are strengths, with teams regularly competing in and winning local and national competitions. Performing Arts thrive and Sixth Form students are encouraged to produce their own plays and take a lead role in the popular technical club. The Music department runs a number of choirs, orchestras and bands.
Outdoor Pursuits is a special strength of the school with Sixth Formers also supporting younger pupils in a variety of activities. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award Scheme is offered to the Sixth Form and the Ten Tors is also popular with Sixth Formers.

There are numerous travel opportunities available only to the Sixth Form students. In the past few years these have included cultural tours of Italy, scientific studies in the Galapagos, politics conferences in Paris and climbing in the Himalayas.
We are also always open to new ideas and encourage anyone in the Sixth Form to establish a club or society in which they have an interest, for example our LGBTQ Allies and Afro-Caribbean society were recently set up by our students.
