Indoor planting goes wild!

As well as being Head of Religion and Philosophy, Zak leads our digital vision. He was instrumental in developing our excellent online learning offering during lockdown, much to the relief of our parents, and is now leading the roll out of our school device programme.

Our Eco-Reps and some Year 7 students were treated to an eco-enrichment session this week, re-potting plants and learning all about indoor gardening.

Hayley Stevens from Mint Plants, who looks after the schools indoor greenery, spent the afternoon teaching our students the art of indoor horticulture. The boys thoroughly loved getting their hands dirty and the end result is an indoor jungle in S7! The plants are to be cared for through regular indoor gardening sessions in S7 before they reach their permanent homes in various classrooms in September.

At QEH, sustainability is at the heart of our community. From reducing food waste with Holroyd Howe to promoting sustainable transport and engaging in wildlife conservation, our pupil-led initiatives are making a real impact.

QEH Leading the Way in Sustainability and Eco Initiatives

At the inaugural AI in Education Conference hosted by HMC, QEH's Mr Verry presented on how the school is harnessing AI for innovation. His insights emphasised practical applications that enhance learning. The event featured many notable speakers, underscoring QEH's commitment to leading educational innovation and exploring AI's future in the classroom.

We will remember them

Our Year 7 students were busy bees during their enrichment sessions last week, making eco-friendly lip balm from beeswax, olive oil and coconut oil.
