Today should have been our induction morning for students entering our Sixth Form in September. In common with many such events, we were unable to welcome either our current Year 11 pupils, or those joining us from other schools, to meet their teachers for next year and sample some A-level lessons.

Instead, all the students were invited to a virtual induction event where they were able to see introductory videos from their teachers and heads of year and watch a live YouTube presentation which answered questions the students had emailed in.

This was not just a ‘meet and greet’ morning, as teachers had also prepared some summer projects for their students so that they will be primed and ready to start their A-level courses when they arrive in September.

“We hope that the students found this morning helpful and we look forward to seeing them all after the summer, ” commented Richard Porter, Head of Sixth Form. “And with their projects completed and ready to hand in!”

The videos and summer tasks can be viewed here.

A-level results 2020

We always enjoy welcoming students back to QEH but this year it feels particularly special.  A special welcome to all our new pupils, including our Year 7 group who posed for the traditional photo on the school steps this morning.

Back to School

We just wanted to write and say how genuinely delighted we are having moved our son to QEH. We have been so impressed by everything he has done and how everyone has been so interested and kind - all boys and teachers! It’s hard to describe to people what we like about it so much but in comparison to other schools it just has that something extra - almost like a sparkle! It’s a shame we can’t send our daughter just yet!
