Year 9 Team Building Day – A Fantastic Start to the Year

The Year 9 Team Building Day was a resounding success, filled with energy, creativity, and collaboration. From start to finish, the boys embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, showcasing exceptional teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The day began on Brandon Hill, where pupils took part in a series of fun and engaging activities designed to test their strategy and cooperation. Each challenge earned them ‘H5 Bucks’, our very own event currency and teams worked tirelessly to maximise their earnings in anticipation of the afternoon’s main event.

Returning to school, the excitement ramped up with a fast-paced and competitive auction. Teams bid strategically on a curious mix of vegetables, tools, and other mystery materials, which they later used to construct creative vehicles. The goal? To design a machine that could race down a ramp and survive the landing intact!

The results were impressive. Ingenuity was on full display as teams combined their materials in innovative ways, demonstrating strong collaboration and design thinking. The final races were a thrilling conclusion to the day, with cheers and laughter echoing across the school.

Congratulations to our winning team — Freddie, James, Oscar, Cobey, Barney, and Alastair — whose brilliantly engineered vehicle not only stayed in one piece but also travelled the furthest.

A huge well done to the entire Year 9 cohort for their fantastic energy, imagination, and team spirit. It was a day to remember and a brilliant way to kick off the year.
