A new six-month partnership programme providing QEH pupils with a taste of the construction industry as part of the school’s theatre redevelopment project.
Last week, selected pupils from Years 9 to 12 visited Beard’s Clifton office for the launch of the QEH Theatre Rise & Connect Programme, marking the beginning of an exciting six-month journey.
This programme forms part of our ambitious theatre redevelopment, which will transform our performance and rehearsal facilities. Plans include a state-of-the-art theatre, a refurbished green room, and a brand-new drama studio, all designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and excellence in the performing arts.
The launch event provided pupils with a valuable introduction to the construction industry. Through a hands-on tetrahedron challenge, they explored the wide range of roles and skills involved in delivering a project, with a particular focus on teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Pupils also gained insight into the early stages of construction projects and learned more about the redevelopment of the QEH theatre.
The afternoon concluded with pupils being issued their own personalised PPE, in preparation for their first site visit.
We are very grateful to everyone involved in making this opportunity possible, and we look forward to seeing how our pupils develop their confidence, skills, and understanding of the built environment over the coming months.
