The Junior School’s Enriching Excursions!

QEH Junior School have had an exciting year, enjoying a variety of trips; find out where they have been!

The SS Great Britain

Year 5 were captivated by a lovely day out at the SS Great Britain, as they learnt a great deal about the local history of Bristol, Brunel and the building of the SS Great Britain from the fantastic tour guide and our very own Head, Mr Kendall!

It was memorable and enriching experience. It provided a unique opportunity for the pupils to step back in time and immerse themselves in Bristol’s maritime history. The combination of guided tours, hands-on activities, and interactive exhibits ensured that learning was both fun and impactful. The trip not only enhanced the pupils’ understanding of history and engineering but also inspired curiosity and a sense of adventure.

Legoland Windsor

In the same week the entire Junior School embarked on a thrill-bound trip to Legoland Windsor, to mark Mr Kendall’s retirement from QEH Junior School! The only ups and downs throughout the day were the rides, as the weather held and the boys’ behaviour was exemplary.

The trip was a resounding success. It provided a perfect day to unwind, allowing pupils to bond with their peers outside the classroom setting. The hands-on activities and interactive exhibits kept everyone engaged, and the exhilaration of the rides added to the excitement. The trip has left lasting memories and an appropriately enjoyable farewell to Mr Kendall for the pupils.

Football Tour to Liverpool!

What a triumph the Junior School tour to Liverpool was! Seventy boys from Year 5 and 6 embarked on our annual sports trip, and “action-packed” would be an understatement.

The boys received professional coaching at Aston Villa and toured Villa Park, which set the stage for an exciting weekend. They attended a thrilling Super League game between St Helens and Hull FC, followed by a guided tour of Anfield, home of Liverpool FC. The adventure continued with a Championship football game, where they saw Stoke City secure a 3-0 victory against Plymouth Argyle.

Getting a glimpse behind the curtains of Premier League giants and experiencing two live matches was an absolute delight for the boys. Whether it was waving flags at St Helens or witnessing Stoke City’s home victory, containing their excitement was the only challenge.

Many thanks to all the staff and to our wonderful parent helpers who allow these fantastic trips to go ahead.
