Exciting News! Our Design and Technology Department has a brand-new CNC machine, bringing advanced digital manufacturing to both GCSE & Sixth Form pupils. We can’t wait to see the innovative projects ahead.
We are thrilled to announce a fantastic addition to our Design and Technology Department, a brand-new CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine. For those unfamiliar, a CNC machine is a computer-controlled cutting tool that uses a high-speed spindle to precisely shape materials such as wood, metal, plastic, composites, glass, and foam.
Until now, CNC technology has been available exclusively to our Sixth Form students. However, thanks to the incredible generosity of the QEH Friends, we have been able to introduce a second CNC machine. This means that our GCSE pupils will now also have the opportunity to explore advanced digital manufacturing techniques, enhancing their practical skills and creativity.
This cutting-edge addition will allow pupils to bring their designs to life with precision and efficiency, preparing them for future careers in engineering, product design, and beyond. We are excited to see the innovative projects that will emerge as a result!
A huge thank you to the QEH Friends for their generous support in expanding the learning opportunities available to our pupils.
