Sixth Form admissions
Welcome to QEH Sixth Form. Positioned in the suburb of Clifton on the popular Triangle, our co-educational Sixth Form brings together young women and men from a diverse range of schools from across the region. We provide an intellectually stimulating and ambitious environment where academic success is balanced with extensive co-curricular opportunities and supported by dedicated, award-winning pastoral care.
Here, students are treated as young adults. By living our core values of being kind, curious, positive, and collaborative, our students develop true independence, pursue their intellectual passions, and take on leadership roles across our community. Following its autumn 2025 inspection, QEH received a ‘Significant Strength’ award from the Independent Schools Inspectorate for its outstanding support of students’ physical health, mental health, and emotional wellbeing. Our Sixth Formers leave QEH with exceptional A Level outcomes, fully prepared for university and their future careers.
Our friendly Sixth Form admissions team is here to support you and your family at every step, from exploring subject combinations to scholarships and application.
Entry to QEH Sixth Form
QEH Sixth Form is co-educational, with students joining in Year 12.
Each application is considered individually. Any offer will normally be conditional on achieving:

- Subject-Specific Requirement: Grade 7 or higher at GCSE in any subject you intend to study at A level.
- New Subject Criteria: For subjects not taken at GCSE, such as Psychology, a Grade 7 in a related academic subject is expected.
- Scholarship Standards: Candidates seeking subject scholarships are expected to achieve a Grade 8 in the relevant or related discipline.

Students applying for academic, music, or sports scholarships will also complete a practical assessment or meet with the relevant Head of Department.
