Sadik Al-Hassan visited QEH to meet Sixth Form students and explore their CanSat project, offering insightful feedback and inspiring future scientists through meaningful engagement.
It was a privilege to welcome Sadik Al-Hassan to QEH this term, he spent time with our Sixth Form students discussing their exciting CanSat project. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to share the progress they have made in designing and developing their miniature satellite, explaining the technical challenges they have faced and the creative solutions they have implemented along the way. Mr Al-Hassan listened with great interest, asking thoughtful questions and offering encouraging feedback that both challenged and motivated the team. His genuine enthusiasm for their work was clear, and he spoke highly of their confidence, collaboration and impressive depth of knowledge.
Following the presentation, Mr Al-Hassan toured the school, meeting students and staff across a range of departments. He was thoroughly impressed not only by the quality of work he observed but also by the positive atmosphere and strong sense of ambition throughout the school community. It was wonderful to see our students engaging so confidently and articulately about their learning.
We are extremely grateful to Mr Al-Hassan for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit QEH. His support and encouragement made a lasting impression on our students, particularly those involved in the CanSat project, and his visit was a powerful reminder of the exciting pathways that lie ahead for our young scientists and engineers.
Opportunities such as this strengthen the connection between education and the wider professional world, giving students real insight into how their skills and passions can translate into future careers. The CanSat team left the session feeling inspired and even more determined to refine their project in the months ahead. We look forward to following their continued progress and hope to welcome Mr Al-Hassan back to QEH again in the future.
