School Council
At QEH, we believe pupil voice is critical in order for our community to be cohesive and impactful. With this in mind, in September 2022 we redesigned the existing School Council, to boost its prominence and efficacy, and to empower pupils to share their ideas and suggestions for improving school life.
We divided the Council into the following three streams, and invited pupils to formally apply to take part:
- Academic and co-curricular
- School facilities and environment
- Mental health and wellbeing, diversity, equality and inclusion
Heading Here
Each of the three streams is headed up by a team of Sixth Form pupils, and includes pupil representation across Years 7 to 13. The streams meet regularly each half term, prior to convening for a full School Council meeting. It is here that key issues and matters of importance are raised within the three areas, from which action points are discussed and agreed.
Whilst still new in its form and process, the Council has already effected change in broad areas spread across school life. We look forward to seeing the impact generated by our dedicated School Council members in the months to come.
