The Lizzies 2025

QEH’s annual Lizzies Awards celebrated pupil creativity with an inspiring showcase of short films based on the themes ‘Three Wishes’ and ‘Myths’.

Every year QEH celebrates the creativity of its pupils by hosting it’s very own version of The Oscars – The Lizzies. This year’s Lizzies was a spectacular celebration of pupils talent, and storytelling. With the themes ‘Three Wishes’ and ‘Myths’ inspiring this year’s entries, the variety and imagination on display were nothing short of extraordinary.

From charming animations and dramatic live-action shorts, to inventive Lego stop-motion and a captivating blend of live action with animation, the entries showcased an incredible range of styles and techniques. Each film reflected not only technical skill but also powerful storytelling, pushing the boundaries of what young filmmakers can achieve.

In true red-carpet fashion, the event mirrored the grandeur of The Oscars, with an impressive array of award categories. Pupils were recognised for their excellence in areas such as Cinematography, Editing, Sound Effects, and of course, standout Performance.

Adding to the excitement of the evening, we were honoured to welcome three esteemed professionals from the film and television industry. Not only did they lend their expertise as judges, but they also participated in a dynamic question and answer session, offering invaluable insight into the world of film production and careers in the creative industries.

A huge thank you goes out to all the incredibly talented entrants who made this year’s Lizzies so unforgettable, and a massive congratulations to our deserving winners.

Stay tuned as we begin to look ahead to The Lizzies 2026!

With our two sons being at this school over the past 13 years, we could not be happier with the amazing teachers, teaching and all the extra activities outside of the curriculum. Both boys have come away with outstanding results and aside from that as perfectly rounded, confident and well-mannered young men. We leave today so thanks to the school for everything, we shall miss these days.
