The Sixth Form Centre

At the heart of the Sixth Form Centre is a modern Common Room with servery, flexible seating areas and workstations.

The informal Common Room is designed for relaxation during breaks, with the discrete 'Oval Room' and 'bar tables' doubling as communal work areas during study periods.  Hot and cold food as well as other refreshments are available from breakfast time and through the day from the servery - a well-used and popular facility!  A designated Work Room adjoins the main centre. It provides a  separate and more formal environment for serious study, as does the School Library and other quiet working areas around the school.

As part of our new co-educational Sixth Form at QEH, we are looking forward to an exciting expansion of our existing Sixth Form facilities.  The space available exclusively to Sixth Formers will be enlarged to create a vibrant second social space, in addition to the existing common room and servery area.  The current IT suite will also be relocated and updated to include IT 'pods', with a mixture of fixed computer terminals and a number of access points for students to connect their own devices.  In addition, areas of Upper Berkeley Place will be remodelled to house new changing and showering facilities for Sixth Formers.  This expansion will take place next summer and will be completed for September 2017.

The Sixth Form Council, comprising Sixth Form representatives, meets regularly to discuss  the day-to-day running of the  Centre as well as wider issues, with the Head of Sixth Form and the Heads of Years 12 and 13.
