Once in the Sixth Form you are assigned a tutor. Tutor groups are made up of students from both Year 12 and Year 13, with typically six from each Year.
Your two years in the Sixth Form will be a challenging and exciting time. We pride ourselves on providing expert pastoral care to support you through these crucial years.
You will have regular contact, both formal and informal with your tutor. All tutors have tutorial sessions twice a day with their group and it is usual for a close bond to develop within the group. This is encouraged by tutor teas, form assemblies and inter form competitions.
All Sixth Formers will take part in General Studies which provide both key skills and enrichment in weekly timetabled sessions and optional lunchtime lectures. The range of topics is broad, from wider issues such as the law, current ethical debates, and the environment to practical skills such as basic cookery and car maintenance. The aim is to equip you with invaluable life skills whilst challenging you beyond the bounds of the A-level syllabus.
All this, together with the monitoring of academic progress through the Sixth Form, will enable the Tutor to prepare a comprehensive reference for your application to University or elsewhere.
