Football is well established at QEH and is the main sport for all Year groups in the Spring term.

We field 'A' and 'B' teams in every age group who play competitive matches every week.

In all, teams will play about 200 fixtures throughout a busy term. The 1sts, 2nds and Under-15 teams compete in the ISFA Mercian League where they have performed well, usually finishing in the top half of the table.

The Seniors play fixtures on Thursday and Saturday afternoons, whilst the Under-15 and Under-14 teams play during Tuesday and Saturday afternoons. Years 7 and 8 play on Wednesday with Saturday fixtures. We also enter teams in the ISFA Cup competitions at both Under-15 and Under-18.

QEH has outstanding football pitches on our dedicated 23-acre football site at Failand. We also have an exciting partnership with Bristol City Football Club. There are three first class full-size pitches, with two smaller junior pitches. A further two full-size pitches and an extensive dedicated training area are on adjacent fields.

We have committed and well qualified teachers who assist with football coaching during games afternoons. All our staff hold FA refereeing qualifications, many to a high level.

Football tours are now a bi-annual event and recent tours have included tournaments in Barcelona, Milan and Holland. UK tours also go to West Ham and Manchester United. We have players who represent the County and others who have gone on to win professional contracts with League Clubs.
