Cricket

Cricket is played throughout the Summer term and there are three grass squares at Failand and two artificial strips, in addition to seven cricket bays.

On average, the 1st XI plays 12 matches per year with various touring teams making an appearance at the end of the Summer term. QEH runs 'A' and 'B' teams for all age groups which gives all keen cricketers the chance to play in school fixtures.

The School employs a cricket professional during the season and teams regularly contain a number of boys who participate in their relevant age group at County level for Gloucestershire or Somerset. Recent successes include reaching the Final of the County Cup. Seniors compete in a local schools' 20-20 competition with the other school age groups are involved in the Avon Schools' Cup.

Cricket tours have taken teams to Grenada and the West Indies. In addition we run annual UK tours to Liverpool and Cornwall at various age groups.
