Simon Speirs, Governor at QEH

The Headmaster received the sad news on Saturday that Simon Speirs, Vice Chair of the Governing Body at QEH, died following an accident. 



Edvard Greig to Deep Purple - in 24 hours

It's been a busy and varied week in the Music Department!  On Wednesday evening, St Paul's Church, Clifton was packed to the rafters for the Autumn Concert. 24 hours later, Open Mic Night was a great success as a warm and appreciative audience in the QEH Theatre was treated to almost two hours of music.



Volunteering at QEH

As part of the Enrichment Programme, every student in Year 10 has spent two afternoons volunteering at local care homes and in nearby elderly communities, as part of an initiative to increase inter-generational links and tackle isolation and loneliness in the ageing population.



MP returns to QEH to celebrate pupils’ outstanding achievements

Pupils at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital welcomed the Member of Parliament for Wells and former pupil of the school, James Heappey MP, back to the school last week to present prizes at the annual Prize Giving ceremony, held at Clifton Cathedral.



Scholarship Retreat Day

Last week Year 8 boys participated in a retreat day in the Black Mountains.



Dambusters!

We were honoured this week to receive a visit from the last surviving Dambuster.



QEH in South Africa

In July 39 boys and 4 staff set off for the biennial rugby tour to South Africa.
