Twenty students and two staff enjoyed a fantastic cricket tour to Granada in the West Indies during half term. While Bristol shivered in frost and ice, they were fortunate to have very warm and sunny days!
The hotel was right on the beach which was perfect for swimming and beach cricket and there was also a lovely pool.
The tourists were an Under 14 and an Under 16 team and each played 4 matches each. The U14 lads were unbeaten in all their matches. The U16s won one match, by 1 wicket, in a thrilling game played in the National Stadium.
The boys (but not Mr Albon!) enjoyed a fantastic catamaran trip around the island, with snorkelling around sunken sculptures, along with canoeing and a BBQ on the back of the boat. They also had a fantastic day trip to the Annandale Falls and watched the locals jumping off the top into the water - not for the faint hearted!
The locals were very friendly and hospitable and all of the cricket matches were keenly contested.
Well done to all the boys for their efforts and good company. This should be a great warm up for the cricket season ahead!
