Sport

Every boy is good at something in addition to his academic work, and every boy needs to develop an interest outside the classroom.

Many thrive on opportunities to develop their talents in sport; others just enjoy taking part!

We strive to offer a range of opportunities to participate in sport, our aim being that all our boys learn the value of exercise whilst enjoying themselves.

We believe Sport plays a vital part in the all round education of boys. Our weekly timetable reflects this, with all boys enjoying two afternoons at our Failand sports grounds.

Over the year the boys will be taught rugby, football and cricket by specialist coaches at Failand. We have a full fixture calendar for all Year groups and all boys get the opportunity to represent the school in competitive matches throughout the year.

In addition, each class enjoys a weekly PE lesson in the Senior School gymnasium and Year 3 and 4 also enjoy swimming lessons at the nearby Bristol University pool.

Many of our after school clubs also provide the boys with opportunities to try out new sports and activities including golf, hockey and judo.

Athletics also forms part of the summer sports curriculum and provides boys with the chance to practice and prepare for our annual sports day at Failand in June.
