London Dinner 2017

What better place to host the QEH London Dinner than right at the heart of government in Westminster.  Fifty two guests attended this special occasion and a great evening was had by all.  Thanks to Deputy Headmaster Joe Martin who expertly chaired the event.  This year it was also lovely to be able to welcome more recent younger OE's to the dinner.  Thanks to James Heappey MP for Wells who kindly hosted the evening and took a large number of guests on a fascinating tour with great aplomb.  The tour took us in to both chambers of the House and also provided a fascinating glimpse of the inner workings of state.

The final speech was given by James Heappey who regaled the guests with entertaining stories based on his life as a boarder at the school and the pranks he got up to, especially when he managed to escape from school!  It was fascinating too to hear of his time in the army and to get a sense of the challenges of being an MP at this turbulent time in British politics.  We look forward to welcoming James back to school as the guest of honour at prize giving.
