Sixth Form Admissions
Every year we welcome students from other independent and maintained schools into our Sixth Form, together with present Year 11s at QEH. We are delighted that, from September 2017, we will also be able to welcome girls to study at QEH Sixth Form.
Anyone wishing to enter the QEH Sixth Form from another school is also strongly encouraged to come for an individual tour and a taster day. Please contact Carolyn Matthews, our Admissions Registrar to arrange this on 0117 930 3068 or at email@example.com
. Our next Sixth Form Open Evening will take place in the autumn and the date will be published in due course.
Each applicant is considered individually, though six B grades at GCSE is the minimum requirement for entry. Admission is also based on an interview and recent school reports.
What you should be doing
Whether you are already at QEH or come from outside, we urge you to take advantage of all guidance offered in preparing you for Sixth Form life next year. Think carefully about what you want from your post-GCSE education and whether the Sixth Form at QEH will meet your expectations.
Work closely with your subject teachers, form teacher, Heads of Sixth Form and also present Sixth Form students to find out as much information as possible.
Whatever subject you are considering at A-level, talk to the Head of Department concerned and look carefully at our Sixth Form Prospectus
so that you make the right course decisions before it is too late. Be honest about where your strengths and weaknesses lie - predicted GCSE results are often not your best guide!
For existing pupils in Year 11 wishing to enter the Sixth Form there is an ‘Introduction Morning’ which will start these enquiries, along with careers advice and information gathered from the Parents’ evening.
Full information about entry, and Sixth Form Music scholarships, are available from the Admissions Office firstname.lastname@example.org
