Your son is unique, and choosing the right school for him is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.
Junior School (Years 3-6)
The main points for entry to QEH Juniors are Year 3 and Year 5. Boys may be admitted to other year’s groups during the school year if vacancies exist. Please contact Sarah Holmstrom on 0117 968 6037 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for up to date information on available places.
For entry in QEH Juniors in September 2017, assessment will be arranged on an individual basis. We are holding no more assessment weeks.
For entry in QEH Juniors in September 2018, assessment weeks will be held in November 2017 and January 2018, the dates will be published.
Year 3 entry - Our assessments are based on English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Each test is explained to your son, with examples and opportunities to request help before starting the assessment. Your son will be in School for the morning, and he will be able to stay for lunch, should you wish him to do so.
Year 5 entry - Our assessments for Year 5 are based on English (creative writing, reading and spelling), maths (assessment paper and mental maths), verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Each test is explained to your son, with examples and opportunities to request help before starting the assessment. Your son will be in School for the day and have lunch and breaks.
Interview - Each boy will also be individually interviewed by the Headmaster, Mr Martin Morris.
The Assessments are informal and your son will be relaxed and enjoy his time meeting the boys and staff.
We will inform you if your son has been successful or unsuccessful in being offered a place as soon as possible after his assessment.
Practise papers - No practice test papers are issued by QEH but there are reasoning booklets, such as the ‘Bond’ series, for relevant age-groups. These are available from W H Smith and similar booksellers.
How to apply – If you would like to apply for a place for your child, please contact the Admissions Office to arrange for an application pack to be sent to you. The registration forms need completing and returning together with the registration fee, currently £40. The Admissions Office will then contact you with details of the assessment.
