PA to the Bursar and Assistant Bursar

The School is seeking an efficient, adaptable and organised individual with exceptional customer service skills and a flexible approach, who has excellent IT skills and is experienced in working under pressure in a varied and sometimes fast-paced role.  Experience of working in a school environment and/or some HR experience would be an advantage.
Job description: The successful candidate will provide support to the Bursar and Assistant Bursar in a range of areas including Administration, HR, Finance and Reception.  This is a varied role which will give the individual the opportunity to get involved in a number of different areas and assist in ensuring the efficient running of the school.
 
Initiative and the ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team, and to be able to keep calm when under pressure will be important qualities. The successful applicant will dress smartly and have a friendly, professional manner towards staff, visitors and pupils.  He/she will have keen attention to detail and the flexibility to deal with a varied range of tasks.
 
Location: The PA to the Bursar and Assistant Bursar is based in the Bursary/Reception, reports to the Bursar and the Assistant Bursar, and works alongside two part-time finance assistants and a part-time receptionist. 
 
Compensation: The Bursary is manned throughout the year, apart from bank holidays, from 8 am until 5 pm.  The post is for 37 hours a week with 5 weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays. Flexibility, including a possible job share and/or additional reduced working during school holidays, will be considered for the right candidate.
 
The annual salary will be in the range of QEH Support Scale points 23-27, £23,432 - £26,634.
Other benefits include a contributory defined contribution pension scheme and free lunches during term time.
 
A staff fee remission is available for pupils at Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital, or The Redmaids’ High School.
 
Notice following a 6-month probation period will be 1 month.
